THE COURSE OF ADVANCED INSTRUCTION (PRACTICAL)
A Course of Advanced Instruction is neither a lesson nor a test.
It is a 40 minute assessment drive during which the driver is observed
and a record is kept of how they interact in various traffic situations
for later analysis.
The purpose of the Advanced Assessment is to determine whether the driver
is competent in the areas of hazard identification, search, manipulating
controls and observing traffic regulations.
During the 40 minute assessment the applicant will drive in as many traffic
situations as possible and where practical will include open road
and motorway conditions and busy city/town situations.
At the conclusion of the assessment the Driving Instructor will identify
and discuss the training needs with the applicant. If further training
is indicated (for a fee) the tutor will offer advanced training.
On successful completion of the course a certificate will be issued.
This assessment system is approved and supported by the Land Transport
Safety Authority and the tutor conducting the assessment will have
been approved by the Land Transport Safety Authority for this purpose.
The advanced assessment will help you prepare for your Full Licence Test.
